Coach Nate Tamayo's love for sports began while growing up in Chula Vista, San Diego as a multisport athlete playing baseball, football, basketball, and ran track and field. He continued his commitment to youth sports for over 25 years coaching baseball, flag football, and basketball.
He coached all levels of youth basketball from city recreation leagues to the women's Freshman basketball team at La Mirada High School. In 2016 he co-founded the Brea Ballers club basketball team starting with one team of eleven players and has since grown to twelve successful multi-level teams ranging from 8u to high school girls and boys. Now helping to build the Young warriors basketball program.
Coach Tamayo attended San Diego State University and is an instructional aide for Troy High school. He and his wife Tina have three amazing children. When he has free time he enjoys fishing, cooking, and being his children's #1 fan in their activities.
Coach Tamayo hopes to encourage strength and confidence in his athletes and support them in giving their best effort and energy on and off the court.
